Redbridge is undergoing rapid transformation, with Crossrail’s imminent arrival fuelling investment in new homes, jobs and local facilities. During this time of exciting change, the Council must ensure that our borough is cleaner, greener and safer than ever before.

We are now looking for new leaders who share our vision and commitment to supporting the development of a vibrant, growing and diverse East London community, as well as a modern and inclusive council. You will be responsible for leading key elements of our strategy which signals our new locality working and placing residents at the heart of decision making.

As Head of Highways and Transport Strategy, you will be responsible for the strategic development and operational delivery of all aspects of the Highways and Transport Strategy service, with timely and efficient service delivery.

Overall, you will manage and lead teams across Highways, Traffic, Parking Design, Civil Engineering, Transport Strategy/Streetworks Coordination and all Road Safety Programmes in accordance with Statutory legislation, best professional practice and in line with the Council’s Vision Statement and overall Policy objectives.

With credibility and gravitas, you’ll lead these crucial services, working in partnership with a range of key transport partners, such as Transport for London and rail operators.

It’s about using your influence and communication skills to get people on board with your aspirations for the Borough, playing a full part in the Civic Pride Management Team, deputising for the Operational Director when required. You will lead by example, shaping cost-effective solutions while driving Redbridge’s Highways & Transport services into the future.
