Project Manager – Transport Infrastructure

Salary: £44,443 to £50,189 per annum

Permanent – 37 hours per week

There are a number of exciting opportunities available for the right person to be part of the recently established Major Projects Team that is leading on a number of innovative projects contributing to the above aims.

As Project Manager – Transport Infrastructure, reporting to the Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of a number of transport and infrastructure initiatives or a single large project, ensuring effective project management disciplines are applied to deliver within scope, to time, quality and cost targets. You will need to rely on your significant experience in delivering complex projects and have practical experience in actively managing project risks, issues, budgets and dependencies, whilst working within the organisation’s standard governance and processes.

The ideal candidate will have a strong track-record of managing and delivering major transport and/or infrastructure projects with significant experience in transport work within a public sector or consultancy setting.


This is a highly visible and hands-on role that will rely on you having excellent interpersonal and communications skills to enable effective engagement with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders at all levels across the organisation and beyond, including elected Councillors.

You will possess the excellent project and contract management skills including the ability to draft succinct technical reports on your projects, have strong presentational skills and IT capabilities and be prepared to be a problem solver.

Some procurement experience is desirable so that you can work with our advisors and participate fully in the end-to-end procurement activities, including taking ownership of supplier relationships.
